Shanleigh Rose is a young Australian singer/songwriter building a world somewhere between country, dark folk and Americana.

Her songs are intimate, cinematic and emotionally unguarded - rooted in the storytelling tradition of country music, but drawn toward the strange, haunting places that live underneath it. 

From a young age, Shanleigh was surrounded — and inspired — by the enchanting melodies of folk, country, and pop music—notably by legendary artists such as Hozier, The Civil Wars & Kasey Chambers. Growing up in the picturesque town of Maleny, Shanleigh found solace and inspiration in the natural beauty surrounding her which came to influence the vivid imagery and storytelling nature of her lyrics.

With songwriting at the forefront of her musical passions, Shanleigh has an instinct for turning uncomfortable human experiences into memorable imagery. She’s not afraid of ugliness, obsession, grief, desire or contradiction. And she has a voice that can make those things beautiful. Some of Shanleigh’s songwriting recognitions so far include:

JMC Academy Songwriter Award Runner-Up (2023), Tamworth Songwriter's Association (TSA) John P. Toomey Commemorative Award for youth songwriting (2023), CCMA - Junior Songwriter of The Year (2023), “TSA” lyrics only writer award (2025).

Additionally, her songwriting has led to Shanleigh sharing the stage at song-writer’s-nights with the likes of legendary Australian story tellers, Kelly Cork, Jacob Vincent, Luke O’Shea and Allan Caswell.

Shanleigh's journey to acclaim began in 2023 when she emerged as the NAB Gympie Muster Junior Talent Search winner. This esteemed accolade marked the start of a remarkable series of achievements:

Shanleigh has played festival stages across Australia including, Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Monkerai Big Country Campout, and the Maleny Music Festival. Furthermore, her Spotify catalog has accrued over 100,000 streams across ten multifaceted single releases. Shanleigh’s self-written and directed film clip for her 2025 single "We're Not Friends" was broadcast on the televised music video channel, CMT Australia. And most recently, she opened the show for Fanny Lumsden’s 2026 tour at Brisbane’s iconic venue The Triffid.
